Groups are on going. Participants are welcome to continue attending for as long as they need the support.

Holding Hope participants must be over the age of 18 years to attend the group.

Do I have to join Moms Stop The Harm as a network member in order to attend a Holding Hope group?
No, you don’t.
Our groups are offered by Moms Stop The Harm (MSTH). While this Canadian Non-Profit network provides our groups, no one is required to join the MSTH network in order to participate in a Holding Hope meeting. (Learn more about Moms Stop The Harm)

How many people can attend a group?
As people register for a group, the group is created to the max of 10-12. Once the maximum number is reached new people will be placed on a waiting list and may attend other supports offered by Moms Stop The Harm.

What if I don’t want to share my loved one’s story?
You are welcome to share your story when it feels comfortable for you. This group is a safe place to share your journey when you are ready.

DOES this group FOLLOW an abstinence model or 12 step model of support?
No, our core values are based on a harm reduction of support. Our foundation of values comes from our parent organization Moms Stop The Harm where we believe people who struggle with addiction should be treated with dignity, compassion and have access to a full range of treatment options. Can I leave the group if I feel upset during the meeting?
Tears are allowed and welcome but yes, of course, all participants are welcome to quietly to leave or take a break if they find it is overwhelming.

All information shared between our group members is held in strict confidence. Group facilitators and those attending groups are required to sign a confidentiality agreement as part of their registration for Holding Hope.
